Volunteer Position Descriptions
This is a summary of the positions we need during games. If you havenever done this before, that's OK. We have people available to work with you and help you learn the duties of each position. Sign up with a friend and double the fun!Gatekeeper
The Gatekeeper is responsible for collecting admission to the games, including making change as required. When we have multiple games on the same day, Varsity parents, for example, can be Gatekeepers for the JV-A game so they can watch the Varsity game.
Scorekeeper
The Scorekeeper is responsible for keeping accurate records in the official scorebook. Player accomplishments such as scores, assists, shots, penalties and so on are recorded. As you would expect, more stats are recorded for Varsity games than for JV-B. Multiple scorekeepers allows one person to "spot" and another to record the information.
Timekeeper
The Timekeeper is responsible for keeping the official time of the game as well as timing individual penalties. When we play at Swinehart the official time is kept in the press box; penalties are kept on the field.
Statistician
The Statistician is responsible for keeping accurate records of scores, assists, shots, ground balls, etc. This is a more detailed record than is kept in the scorebook. As you would expect, more detailed records are kept at the Varsity level than JV. For games played at Swinehart Field the Statistician usually sites in the Press Box.
Photographer
The Photographer is responsible for taking digital photos during the game. These are typically uploaded to an online service such as Snapfish so everyone can enjoy them.
Videographer
The Videographer is responsible for creating a video record of the game. This video is given to the appropriate Head Coach for use in subsequent practice sessions.
Bus Chaperone
The Bus Chaperone is responsible for traveling with the team on the school bus to away games, (You save gas money and get into the game for free with the team!)
Snacks
The Snacks person, as you would expects, is responsible for providing snacks for the team after the game. This may include water, gatorade, energy bars, etc. If you cannot make an away game the snacks can be delivered to the team bus.
